This event is a collaboration between three women­led organizations. The focus is on converging the talented artists in our community under the broad notion of “Body Positivity” for the purpose of reframing how we talk, feel, and think about bodies. BODY/Space will be held at the end of March a gallery­space in DUMBO. It is equal parts a call for art/participants and an open exhibition for the community to observe, learn, participate and connect with their fellow community members.

In her first solo exhibition, Sahana Ramakrishnan offers an escape into a world in which human and animal bodies cease to exist as separates. The artist finds inspiration in the Hindu and Buddhist philosophies that stress our interconnectedness to other beings on this planet.
