Part dating game, part Wonderland-esque, this immersive performance is farcically fashioned in relation to the Chinese Zodiac and the attributes that label, guide, and shape human behavior especially in relation to compatibility, desire, and attraction. With a participatory audience of men, the performers will have their eyes closed as they couple-up with an audience member whom they select by a process of using their five senses and then a slow dance to determine whom they are most attracted to via their 'animal instincts'. There will be a soundtrack playing of interviews with the performers based on the imprints that Fairy Tales had as little girls and their beliefs about love and happily ever afters. The research is concerned with coupling, social dynamics, and the human urge not to be alone.

Since moving to NYC in 2009, she has presented her work and performed at Joyce Soho, Wassaic Festival, Ailey CitiGroup Theatre, S.L.A.M warehouse, The World Financial Center, Anita's Way, Spoke the Hub, Wild Project, Fourth Arts Block, WestFest, Figment, Dumbo Dance Festival, Studio A.I.R and has been an artist in resident at The Field, chashama & Art Omi and was invited back to be the guest mentor at Art Omi (2009). She was awarded a travel grant to Buenos Aires from Canada Council for the Arts to pursue a collective creation and residency (2011). She attended NYFA's Artist as Entrepreneur Boot Camp (2011). Her project, 23 Skidoo, premiered in NYFA's Bootstrap Festival, as well as a large scale site-specific production at NYC's Flatiron building involving 42 performers and an audience of over 500 people. An excerpt from 23 Skidoowill be included in a Documentary, The Flatiron, and screened on channel 13 in early 2014. Shandoah has extensive dance film collaborations, in particular, La Musica de Siempre, a music video for Paris based music ensemble, Gotan Project (2009). She extends her choreographic palate to merge with brands, such has Hanky Panky who sponsored her large scale project, 23 Skidoo at NYC's Flatiron Building. Shandoah's interest lies in exaggerating our human movement vocabulary with all its layers of poetic content; therefore the usual becomes unusual, the real surreal and the recognizable abstract. Eager to invite life's intricacies into her work to be dissected, re-arranged, formalized and questioned, she is inspired by the Post-Modern art, voyages to foreign lands and the somatic experience.
